Willie Mae Griffin

Willie Mae Griffin was born April 25, 1930, to the late Charlie L. White and Grace R. Toomer in Isle of Wight County, VA. She departed this life peacefully at home on July 29, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Owen Ricks Sr.; brothers Charlie and James White; sons Luther Ricks and Owen Ricks Jr.; and grandsons Jeffery Lee and Karon Ricks; and great grandson TraQuinn Giles. Willie Mae was educated in Nansemond County Schools. She worked at Obici Memorial Hospital, where she retired as a Dietary Aid. She was also a dedicated member of the Tabernacle Christian Church. Willie Mae leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, daughters Ruby Davis and Cynthia Ricks-Luster (John) of Suffolk, VA; grandsons Julius Davis (Nikia) of Richmond and Angelo Lee (Jill) of Florida; great grandchildren Taquina Smith, Jaynise Smythe, Tajanique Lee, and Jayla Davis; eight great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends. A viewing will be held 12 -6pm Sunday, August 8, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Ms. Griffin will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
