Willie Beatrice Hargrove

Willie Beatrice Hargrove, daughter of the late Willie D. and Alice Russell Alexander, was born September 19, 1919, in Oine, North Carolina. She was the third youngest of seven children. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 at her home with her family close by her side in Suffolk, Virginia.She was baptized at an early age and joined Roanoke Baptist Church in Palmer Springs, Virignia. She attended the public schools in Warren County, North Carolina.After graduating from high school, Beatrice met and fell in love with Chiner Hargrove and married in 1941 upon relocating to Suffolk, Virginia. To this union, 3 children were born.In 1951, Beatrice joined the Tabernacle Christian Church where she was a faithful member. She served in numerous church organizations including the #2 Choir, the Senior Usher Board, the Senior Choir, the Willing Workers, the parental Club, the Tabernacle Seekers, the Sunday School and the Food Bank. Willie loved her church and church family and was saddened when she was no longer physically able to attend.Willie worked in the domestic field for many years as well as serving as a nurses' aide.She was known affectionately as Ms. Bea by many and was always there with her love, support and encouragement to anyone who came across her path. She was loved and admired for her pies and cakes which she loved to bake and bless others with. She will be dearly missed by her friends and close loved ones.Through the blessings and grave of the Lord and the unwavering and awesome care of her daughter Delois and with the support from her granddaughters, Willie was able to remain at home after the decline of her health in 2014.Although we are sorrowed by her physical death, we are joyful knowing that her life continues with her father in Heaven.Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband Chiner, her son Chiner Ear, her grandson Craig, sisters Rosa, Lou Ethel, Mary and Elizabeth, brothers Macy and Frank. She is survived by her son Willie C. Hargrove (Vivian) of South Plainfield, NJ, daughter Delois Hart of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Rene Hargrove-Beatty (Harvey), Tracey Hargrove-Crocker (Eric), Dana Hargrove and Tamika Hart-Sanders (Calvin) all of Suffolk, VA, Vivian Beddows (Shaun) of Sweden and Paul Oglesby of Piscataway, NJ; 11 great grandchildren, Erick, JaQuan, Chyna, Kayla, Kyrah, Calvin, Lauryn, Kaia, Asa, Ezra and Eden; and a host of nieces, cousins and friends.A celebration of life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. 125 County Street.
