William C. Townsell

William Conealus Townsell affectionately known as W.C. was born on July 9, 1938 to the late Leslie and Mary Smith Townsell of the Hobson Community in Suffolk, Virginia. His wife, Lois Hillard Townsell, who he faithfully cared for during her long illness, predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Dal Townsell (Christine) and Milton Townsell (Ella). W.C. graduated from Suffolk Public Schools and later joined the United States Marine Corps where he served from 1956 until 1959. He worked for Newport News Shipyard retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where he was baptized and served in the male chorus for several years.  He leaves to cherish in his memory, his daughters, Saundra Copeland (Bernard), Brenda Faulk (Larry), Monica Holland (James), and his beloved grandson, JaMon Holland, all of Suffolk, Virginia, seven sisters; Gracie Wellons, Janie Daniels, Arleathia Crocker, Carolyn White (Henry), Diane Williams (James), Doana Hatton (Sherman), Connie Croker (Carlton), and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County Street. Rev. Dr. Robert Hobbs will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will have visitation at the residence 2621 Riddick Drive, Suffolk, Virginia; Thursday, January 17, 2019 and Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.   To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of William C.
