William Henry Sharpe, 79, of Suffolk, VA, transitioned from his earthly life to his heavenly reward on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in Nansemond County (Suffolk), VA, on February 3, 1947 to the late James Sharpe Sr. and Dora E. Beamon. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sharpe Whitaker and two brothers, James Sharpe, Jr. and Lloyd Thomas Sharpe.
Henry was reared in the Suffolk Public School System, having attended and graduated from East Suffolk High School in 1965. Upon completion of high school, Henry entered the United States Army and served his country for many years with honor, dignity, and distinction. Henry further advanced his education and knowledge by attending Paul D. Camp Community College; it was during his tenure there in which he learned valuable skills as an Electrical Technician. Later in life, Henry was employed with AMF Blowing Center and served as a mechanic until he retired. Henry was also very dedicated to serving others by volunteering and serving with the local Food Bank. Religion and faith were meaningful values which symbolized the very essence of his existence, as he was a man of deep faith who was a devoted member of Capernaum Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories and legacy a daughter, Sharon Jennings; two sons, Shalem Allah, a.k.a. Jeffrey Jennings, Sr. and Glen Faulks; two brothers, Charlie Sharpe and Larry Sharpe; two special nieces, Brenda Sharpe and Terry Riddick; two special granddaughters, Sheena Jennings and Ransheda Jennings; three grandsons, Rantrall Jennings (Chrystal), LeTavus Parker, and Jeffrey Jennings, Jr; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A viewing will be held 2-5 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2026 at Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist, 314 York Street, Suffolk, Virginia. Mr. Sharpe will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 3:00pm. Professional services with dignity, compassion and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
