William Scott

William Scott, 63, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born to the late Dallas R. Scott, Jr. and the late Annie Inez Bolden-Scott on June 11, 1958. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Bernard O. Scott and John M. Scott and two sisters; Margaret J. Delk and Annie V. Scott. William joined New Calvary Baptist Church in 2017 under the leadership of Pastor Roger N. Greene. He served as Pastor Greene's Armor Bearer and served his position faithfully. He was very dedicated to the church and pastor. Everything that he did in the church and for the pastor he did it with a smile and from his heart. He was very caring and giving towards others. He has a laugh about him that would make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knows and loves him. William was also an Army Veteran in which he served in Alexandria Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memories with his children; Tonya Roberts of Moncks, SC; Jennifer Scott of Summerville, SC, Marquis Pierce (Tiffany) of Concord, NC, Dontavious Pierce of Newport News, VA and ten grandchildren; two brothers, Ruby P. Scott (Carolyn) of Chesapeake, VA, Jerome Scott of Lynchburg, VA; three sisters, Rosa M. Bell of Suffolk, VA, Vinal Hurdle of Tynes, NC and Bessie Spratley of Lynchburg, VA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021 at New Calvary Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery.
