Mr. William "Stanley" Flood, Jr. departed this life on December 4, 2023. He was born in Southampton County on August 29, 1952. he was a former member of Tabernacle Christian Church. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, William Flood, Rebecca and Sandie Francis; brother, James William "Billy" Flood.
He attended J.F.K. High school and from there joined the Untied States Marine Corps. Upon being honorably discharged he was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Yard, and went on to retired from QVC. In his spare time he loved watching Boston Celtics, Dallas Cowboy, L.A. Dodgers, Westerns and spending time with "Beau" and his grandkids.
His memory will forever be cherished by his son, William Flood, III, step daughters, Jamie and Naomi Myrick; grandkids, Mackenzie and William IV; six sisters, Connie Brinkley (Geney), Phyllis Vann, Delara Boyd, Jean Forman, Brenda Porter and Vekesha Bazemore; special brother and sister-in-law, Gregory Francis (Marzina); brothers, Timothy "Wayne" Francis, Reginald Francis, Spangerlen E. Flood, Rodney F. Flood (Sharlese), Alvento Saunders (Danyelle), brother-in-love, Richard Ross, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing will be held 2-7 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Rising St. James P.H.C, 209 N. 6th Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
