William “Poochie” Demary
William “Poochie” Demary, 70, of Suffolk, Virginia, peacefully departed this life on July 9, 2026. Born on May 15, 1956, William was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend whose kindness and humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Helen Skeeter; father, Delaware Skeeter; and brothers James, Bobby, and McCoy Demary.
William leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Bridget Demary; daughters Glozia Demary, Erica Williams(Kashawn), bonus daughter Lexus Isom and god daughter Tenesha Applewhite ; brothers Delaware Skeeter(Darlene),Dennis Skeeter(Felencia),Albert Skeeter(Glennis) Clinton Skeeter (Angela) and Carl Deloatch; sisters, Kimberly Cobb(Carl) and Letrice Felton(Raymond); grandchildren Erial ,David, Layla , Jeremiah,Gemia, Amani and Dayquan ”Doodie”;sisters-in-law Sheila Sears, Jacqueline Peebles, Ellen Demary,Debbie Demary;brothers-in-law Hersey Sears Jr. (Debora), Michael Sears(Sharon), George Sears, Darnell Sears(Sherryl),Kenney Peebles(Donna),Travis Peebles, Glenn Peebles, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
William dedicated more than 36 years of service to Huntington Ingalls Industries, where he worked as a machinist in Department O43 before retiring. He was respected by his coworkers for his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication.
Outside of work, William enjoyed restoring and remodeling his treasured 1955 Chevy Bel Air, riding motorcycles, and spending countless hours tinkering on projects. He found joy in working with his hands and took pride in bringing old things back to life. Whether offering words of encouragement or telling a joke to brighten someone’s day, he had a remarkable way of making people feel valued and cared for. His humble spirit, warm smile, and genuine heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
William “Poochie” Demary will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the legacy of kindness and compassion he leaves behind. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, July 24, 2026, at Balm Church East Campus. Mr. Demary will be laid to rest at Balm Church Memorial Gardens. The family has entrusted Crocker Funeral Home with rendering services with dignity, compassion, and care.
