Virginia R.Williams, 98, of Fulcher Street, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Essie Powell and James Rawls. Besides his parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Williams, daughter, Theresa S. Williams, two sons, Welton L. Williams and Johnny J. Williams, Jr., three sisters, Flossie Hilton, Rosa Thornton and Willie Mae Simpson. She retired from Planters Peanuts (Kraft Foods) after 47 years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a member of Rising St. James PCH where she served as Deaconess and sung in the Gospel Choir. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Martina Beale (Willie) of Suffolk, VA and Margaret R. Williams of Overton, MD; a son, Steve Williams of Suffolk, VA; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon Friday, July 24, 2020 at Rising St. James PCH, 201 N. 6th Street, Suffolk. Rev. Robert Wilkins will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive guest at 403 Fulcher Street, Suffolk, Virginia.
