Rev. Vernon Wilson

Rev. Vernon Wilson of Willow Lane, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Monday, June 8, 2020. He was the son of the late Annie Wilson and Wesley Wilson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Wilson; daughter, Mary Goodwin-Williams and two sons, Carl Wilson and Keith Wilson. He attended Norfolk State University and Retired from Willow Lane Corp in 2003 after 55 years of faithful and dedicated service. He served as Pastor of Pinewood Baptist Church in Smithfield, Virginia for more than 25 years and 38 years of faithful and dedicated service from Suffolk Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Charline Montgomery of Suffolk; two sons, Vernon Wilson, Jr. of Suffolk, VA and Amos Wilson(Sandra) of Portsmouth, VA; sister, Annie Jane Booth of Suffolk, VA; brother, Allie Wilson of Lynchburg, VA; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Regina Wilson; a host of family and friends. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
