Vernon Garrison Copeland

Vernon Garrison Copeland peacefully entered eternal rest on March 19, 2026, at the age of 73.

He was born on April 10, 1952, in Suffolk, VA. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Murray Copeland and Lillian Sweat Copeland. As a child and young adult, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved raising different types of animals and birds. He loved plants and working with wood, creating his own unique designs. He attended Southwestern High School, then moved to Connecticut, where he graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven. He furthered his education by attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. On returning to Suffolk, VA, he worked several jobs over the years, with his last known employment at the city of Suffolk Public Works. He retired a few years ago. 

He leaves behind one paternal aunt, Martha Copeland Moody, and a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial Service will take place on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 12:00 Noon, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home Inc. Professional services with dignity, compassion, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
