Valda Verna Lee-Lopez

Valda Verna Lee-Lopez, 58, of Overlook Crosstown Ct, Tampa, Florida, transitioned Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Tampa General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Annie Smith Lee and Clarence B. Lee;she was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Inocencia Lopez; father-in-law, Delfin Lopez Rivera Valda was a graduate of John Yates High School and matriculated to Virginia Union University where she majored and received her degree in History and Political Science. In her early years she was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church and within the past few years joined Central Tampa Baptist Church. For the past three years she was employed with the University of South Florida as a Human Resources Specialist. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Edwin Lopez of Tampa, FL; son, Desmond Batten; sister, Elonka Butler; brother, Aaron Batten;several sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everets Road, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. She will be laid to rest in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, Virginia. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
