Tyrone Alexander Hawkins was born on January 8,1954, to the late Robert Hawkins and Shirley Hawkins. He was the oldest of three children, two boys, and one girl. He transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his home in Suffolk, Virginia. Tyrone lived most of his childhood and adult years in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he met his late wife, Diane. Together they had three daughters. For a fresh start, after Diane's passing in 2008, he relocated back to his hometown of Suffolk, Virginia living out his final days. During his career, he worked for many years at Bristol Meyers Squibb in New Brunswick, NJ. He enjoyed working on cars and fishing and was known by many people. Tyrone was affectionately known as "Ty," "Tee," or "Coffeepot." He will be greatly missed. He is predeceased by two grandsons, Derahn Robinson and Cleavon Young Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his mother Shirley Hawkins, sister Gwendolyn Washington (Brennan), brother Brian Hawkins (Karen), daughters Monica Hawkins Smith (Henry), Tonia Hawkins, and Demetria Hawkins. Seven grand-children Antonia Faulks (Dontrell), Dierra Doyle, Armani Hawkins, Shacora Grose, Kurahn Robinson Jr., Shayla Smith, Kaiden Lynch. Four great-grandchildren, Nassir, Nyari, Nyla, Zhyaire, and a host of other family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Bishop A. S. Hall, Sr. will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Franklin Memorial Cemetery, North Brunswick, N.J.
