On September 4, 2021, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our dear loved one Travis Williams. He was born on July 20, 1982 in Suffolk, VA to Elsie Williams and Jerry Whitaker. Travis attended Suffolk Public Schools, where he graduated from Lakeland High School, class of 2001. Travis later moved to East Point, Georgia to be near his sister. He was an employee of Wal-Mart in Dunwoody, Georgia at the time of his death. Travis was a quiet person who loved to travel. His two favorite sports teams were the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Lakers. Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Lee and Elsie Mae Williams; great-grandparents, Joseph C. and Rosa Williams; and uncle, Joseph A. Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Elsie Williams of Suffolk, VA; father, Jerry Whitaker (Phoebe) of Suffolk, VA; sisters, Lakish Williams Stroman (Troy) of Fairburn, GA; brother, Deron Williams of Suffolk, VA; aunts, Deborah Franklin and Marie Williams, both of Waterbury, CT; uncles, Ray Williams and Marvin Williams, both of Suffolk, VA; nieces, Jamaya, Arian, Yashiya, and Zariyah, all of Fairburn, GA; nephews, JaNas and JaMir of Fairburn, GA and DeQuan of Suffolk, VA; Ride or Die Friends; Brandy Morgan, Brian Steward, Chris Clark and Jackson Odom. A public viewing will be held 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Mr. Williams will be interred at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
