Tonya Terrell Norman

Tonya Norman, 53, of Newport News, VA transitioned to eternal rest on April 25, 2024. She was predeceased by her father Carl Ross, mother Margie D. Norman and grandson Jeremiah M. Norman  

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at First Church of Newport News. As a servant to the church and community she would always greet anyone with a warm smile and hug. She was very helpful and motivated as she would distribute food within the community. She attended Virginia School of Hair Design and attained a certification in Barbering. Also sought by the youths in the neighborhood as “jack of all trades” assisting with fixing items for them to continue to play with. She hardly left a task unaccomplished once she commenced any project. She was also a very good cook that had her own signature touch when it came to the barbeque grill. A lifelong friendship of over 40 years that has never dwindled with Maxine Williams. Tonya will be greatly missed by many near and far.

 Tonya leaves to cherish her fond memories daughter Jasmine Norman of Richmond, VA, Deonta Norman of Suffolk, VA, Demetris Smith of Atlanta, GA, Ketron Norman of Newport News, VA, Katron Norman of Chesapeake, VA, 10 grandchildren and 3 bonus grandchildren, two brother Michael Norman of Suffolk, VA, and Alton Powell (Bola) of Willingboro, N.J; sisters Jeanette Arrington, Malinda Norman, Donnika Norman of Newport News, VA, Anita Johnson (Antonio) of Hampton, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
