I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course, I have kept the faith Life began for Elder Tony Leon Davis 58 years ago, and he departed from this life on Friday, May 26, 2023 he departed from this life at Sentara Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester, VA. Elder Davis accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He had a special love for God and his leaders. he participated in church faithfully being under the subjection of God. As he dedicated himself to God, he was called into the Ministry. He accepted God's calling and as he preceded with the help of different pastor's and churches he later joined New Mt. Joy COGIC Ministries under the leadership of the late Bishop W.P.Wiggins, where he worked faithfully. he loved to travel with the church to participate in all activities. Elder Davis loved to sing and as he would go up and down the street he would sing loud the songs of old. When people passed by he would smile and say "Praise the Lord". He loved people and he would always have an encouraging word for them. Later as time progressed Elder Davis continue to pursue his love for God, he became a member of Calvary Cross Restoration Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Paige Pringle. As being faithful and obedient to God and the church, he was given his ordination credentials as an Elder. Elder Davis was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Deacon Harvey and Deaconess Catherine Davis; a great niece, Zalaysha Davis. Those left to cherish his memories are a sister, Shirley Davis of Suffolk, VA; brother, Christopher Davis of Richmond, VA; three sisters-in-law, Monique Davis, Lafawn Davis and Charlotte Davis; several nieces, (a very special niece) Veronica Davis, Mysheca Davis, Desiree Davis, Brook Davis; Nephews, Ricky Davis, Christopher Davis, Jr.; great nephews, Zytwon Blow, Zaylan Davis, and a great niece Zaliyah Davis; and he also have great nieces and nephews in Arlington, VA; a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, July 21, 2023 at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
