Tom Roosevelt Cutler, Jr.

Tom Roosevelt Cutler, Jr., 60, transitioned Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation.

He was born May 5, 1963 at Obici Hospital Suffolk, Va., to Tom R. Cutler Sr. and Ruby Mae Robinson-Cutler. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Candi Cutler, and his sister Tracy Cutler Elam.

Tom was a 1981 graduate of Forest Glen High School. He began working for Suffolk Public Schools right out of high school, where he retired after 42 years of service. 

Mr. Cutler leaves to cherish his memories; his sister Jacqueline Cutler Boone (Jesse), Grandson; Kamari Cutler, son; Tavaris Eley, niece; Ciara Eley Jones, nephews; Frank Eley Jr., James Pittman, Bakari Pittman, friend; Tony Faulk, special friend; Melva Wilson, and a special cousin; Roger Turner.

Tom joined a car club with the Mustang Cars. That’s where he got the name “Race”.

He is also survived by a host of family and friends.

 A memorial service will be held noon, Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
