Toi Kadeem "Super T.J." Porter, Jr.

On December 12, 2021, Toi K. Porter, Jr, affectionately known as “Super TJ”, gained his heavenly wings peacefully at home surrounded by love. Super TJ loved everyone he came in contact with and his smile was sure to light up any room. Battling cancer for 5 brave years, “Super TJ” became our local hero. He left an impression on everyone’s heart that will never fade away. Super TJ lived life to the fullest, traveling and braving new adventures each day. He even got the chance to marry one of his nurses he fell in love with at CHKD hospital. They shared a very special bond that will never be broken. He had many special friends at CHKD hospital and each was a unique relationship. At the age of 4 he learned how to say ‘My Love’ in Spanish to address his nurses. “Super TJ” loved to ride his dirt bike and all things adventurous. He was a family man, loving everyone with a smile. He was and still is one of the strongest young men you will ever meet. He fought cancer long and hard and ‘Super TJ’ won his battle on so many different levels. He will forever be a superhero! TJ leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Toi Porter, Sr and Adrea Walton, his siblings: Legend Porter, Kamari Porter, Kemonie Porter, and Kilyn Porter, his grandparents: Eddie and Lora Walton, Sonya Elliott and Ozie Porter. He also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends to cherish his memory. Super TJ was nicknamed after his favorite superhero "Superman" so we request that all attending the funeral wear something red, blue and yellow. Red and blue were also super TJ's favorite colors. A viewing will be held 3-6pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 1764 Wilroy Road, Suffolk, VA. Bishop Fred Hill will deliver the message of comfort.
