Timothy Dale Scott

Timothy Scott ,entered into this life to Anna Chapman Scott and John Scott Senior in Nansemond County Suffolk on 08/27/1959. Timothy departed the physical life unexpectedly on 12/31/2024.Tim was raised amongst love and support of a large family to include his 9 siblings. 8 children and a multitude of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles . 

Tim was affectionately known for being a talker, a man of substance always imparting knowledge on those he knew and most importantly a man of God. Tim was a down to earth man with enough charm to fill the oceans far and wide. He was known for being gentle to those he loved. Tim was a problem solver often building and restoring homes. Tim was a mentor for all he came in contact with. 

Tim is what one would consider a jack and master of all trades he did general contracting and remodeling of homes as a business owner, served in the armed forces and was a shipfitter for many years at the shipyard before retiring. He was recently retired and was living his best life traveling and taking care of his children and grandchildren. 

One of the most important joys to Timothy was being a father. Tim was a father to 8 children Tron Gaitling, Brandon Sessoms (Renee), Terrell Beale (Danielle), Lacara Clayton, Chiquita Collins (Reginald), Timesha Hamlin, Te’Anna Mitchell and Armani White. Tim affectionately referenced his niece Shawndell Harris and Maurice Scott as more like his children. While Tim was a father to 8 he was known as the neighborhood dad to all often helping anyone who were in need. Tim also left a host of wonderful siblings to share and cherish his memories Randall Scott, Donald Scott (Wilhelmina) Angela Hill (Raleigh)Audrey Harris(Kenneth), Vincent Scott (Monica) ,Tracy Scott( LaPrecious), Lynwood Scott (Monica) and his stepmother Felicia Scott.

Tim was Pre deceased and death by his father John Scott Senior and his mother Anna Chapman Scott his brothers John Scott Junior and DJUAN Scott his grandparents Joseph Scott and Lavenia Diggs Scott and Andrew and Lynwood Chapman.

A viewing will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 2-6 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living, 307 County Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
