Thomas L. Crocker, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Ivor, Virginia. Thomas affectionately known as “Tom-Mane” by family and friends, was such a light in this sometimes-dark world and he will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. He touched the lives of so many people across multiple generations. During His time with us, he made a point to always help anyone with whatever he could. Anyone who knows, knows that his family meant everything to him and in his eyes, each of you reading this was family or you would not be here. His love of life was evident in the way he lived. Even just sitting on the porch turned into a fun time with family, friends, and of course great food! The community will be different now without him saying a prayer or word of encouragement to all in his presence. For us, he really is that pebble thrown into a lake as the lives he touched are ripples that extend far beyond just us. Thomas is preceded in death by his father Tom Parker and mother Ruth E. Crocker; wife, Florence Crocker; sisters, Willie Mae Crocker Roberts, Lucille Crocker, and Cherry Crocker Williams; brothers, Hinton Crocker, Wilbur Crocker, Shelly P. Crocker, Walter R. Crocker, James T. Crocker. Thomas survived by nieces, Dorene Newby of Ivor, Virginia, Martha-Ann Holloway, Annette Reid of Hampton, VA; nephews, Shelly Crocker of Smithfield, VA, Douglas Crocker of Williamsburg, VA; great niece, Debra Eley, and a host of great nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, May 23, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor, Virginia. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
