Thomas Earl Boothe born on March 7, 1941 and departed this life on December 5, 2018 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with family and friends.Tom, as he is affectionately called is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Alene Boothe andbrother Gene Boothe. At an early age, Tom became a member of Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C.  He was a faithful and dedicated servant.  His ministries included Board of Trustee and an usher for over forty years. Tom attended Corapeake Community School, Corapeake, N.C., TS Cooper School, Sunbury, N.C.and graduated from Central High School, Gatesville, N.C. After graduation, Tom obtained employment in New York City where he stayed until called to the US Army. He was stationed in Fort Dix, New Jersey until his Honorable Discharge. “Thanks for your service, Thomas Earl Boothe”.  He was employed by Planters Peanut Company, Suffolk, VA and later at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Newport News,Va. as a crane operator. He retired after forty years of service. Tom loved and enjoyed gardening and sold his produce at the Farmers Market in the City of Suffolk, VA and had a sufficient amount to donate. He received media coverage from the Suffolk Sun, Suffolk, He also loved drawing and entered several contest and was recognized for his talent. After retirement he decided to take art classes to further enhance his skill. Tom maintained his active membership with Corapeake Masonry Light Lodge #432, M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina. Tom leaves to cherish his memory, Two daughters: Thomasina Elliot and Debra Turner of Suffolk, VA, his sisters Margie Boothe-Gripper (Albert) and Princess Boothe of Suffolk, VA., five grandchildren and one great grandchild, three aunts: Eunice Wiley of Philadelphia, PA,Lucinda Norgrove of New York, NY, Cleoria Williams of Greensboro, NC and sister-in-law,Mildred Boothe of Newport News, Va and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved church family.Tom was loved by all who knew him: So humble, so kind.  REST IN PEACE. A celebration of life will be held noon, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1261 NC-32, Corapeake, NC 27926. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
