Theodore Roosevelt Johnson III of Suffolk, Va, transitioned on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 5, 1953 to the late Evelyn Scott-Johnson and the late Theodore Johnson Jr. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lena Johnson and the late Alfred Johnson, paternal grandparents Mary Elizabeth Johnson and Theodore Johnson, son Toriano Johnson, brothers Robert Lee Johnson and Leroy Johnson, sisters Dorthy Ann Johnson Savage, and niece Xzbrel Savage. Theodore was educated in Suffolk Public Schools and later furthered his career in the United States Army. On completion of the Army Theodore went on to work for Pond Brothers Peanut Factory until they closed, then he went on to Birdsong Peanut Factory where he retired from for working over 20 years. Theodore was not a big sports fan, he just really loved working and being home relaxing after a long day of work. He was a very helpful person, if he could help anyone in any way he would, his heart was very big. Most people that worked along with Theodore said that he was a jokester and always kept a smile on his face especially at work. Theodore will live on through his family who will miss him so much. He leaves his children to cherish his memory: Maurice Johnson, Niya Johnson-Ralph (Mike), Bisceglia Johnson, Robert Stephens (Sylvonia), Devon Stephens, and DeVone Beamon. His grandchildren: Min. Toriano Johnson, Nyasia Johnson, Abriana Johnson-Waters, Nikera Johnson, Aden Johnson, Devoneta Beamon, Zhayden Beamon, Devon’Dre Beamon, D’Vonte Stephens, DaMaiya Stephens, DeMia Stephens, TyraYaz’mean Stephens, Julius Stephens, and Marcus Stephens. His siblings: Maxine Boykin (George), Everlyn Allen (Thomas); his brothers Curtis Johnson (Patricia) and Willie Johnson. His aunts: Lillian Maddrey, Lottie Smallwood, and Laura Goodman. He also leaves to cherish his memory a good friend Janice Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church, Division Street, Suffolk, Virginia. He will be laid to rest in Albert G.
