Terri Lynneice Eley-Weniger, 58, of Yorktown, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026.
Terri was born on August 18, 1967, in Suffolk, Virginia, to Ms. L. Emma Eley. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family was the foundation of her life. During her early childhood years she attended Tabernacle Christian Church in Suffolk, Va with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher J. Eley and Matthew J. Eley, who were among her greatest joys. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jordyn and Quinn, who brought light and happiness into her life. Her loving mother, Ms. L. Emma Eley; her twin brother, Jerry L. Eley and sister Juanita Hart. Terri shared a beautiful life with her husband, Retired Lieutenant Colonel David Weniger, whose partnership and love meant so much to her. Her memory will be forever cherished by her nephew, William Clarence Porter Jr., her niece Amber Washington, her loving and devoted Aunt, Bernice E. Eley, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College, with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. She was a proud advocate for children in the courts for many years. She also held a plethora of other certificates and accomplishment not limited to but including becoming a Lieutenant Security Guard and as well as gaining her certificate in Master Gardening.
Known for her strength, warmth, and unwavering love, Terri touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her full spirit, kindness, resilience, and the deep care she showed to her family and friends.
Terri was a “Mrs. Fix-it” and a Die-Hard Dallas Cowboy fan! She was also a lover of fishing in her limited time between work endeavors, family functions, and other leisure events.
It didn't matter what she went through or did, her favorite phrase was always, “But I Still Look Good”.
She was pre-deceased by her sister Sherry Eley-Porter, grandmother Mrs. Hattie J. Eley, her grandfather Mr. Walter J. Eley and Jerry Taylor
Terri’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Mz24KtWmn will be loved and truly missed.
A public viewing will be held 3-6pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Weniger will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
