In loving memory of our brother and uncle, Sylvester "Vess" Breon Riddick, 50, left us on November 27, 2025.
Sylvester was a cherished guy whose kindness, and humor touched everyone he met. Born in Suffolk, Virginia, he grew into a person of deep character, known for his unwavering loyalty to friends, devotion to family, and passion for football, cars, and catering. His favorite football team was the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed detailing all types of vehicles along with being very quick at boning a ham at Roy's & Ricky's Catering Restaurant.
Sylvester was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Mae Riddick and father, Bobby Harris along with his grandparents, Wallace and Dorothy Hall. He was also preceded by his special aunt, Brenda Boone.
Vess leaves behind his cherished brothers and sisters: Jeanette Riddick, Kelvin Riddick, Jacqueline (Tavarius) Gray, Larry (Rena) Riddick, Albert (Darlene) Riddick, Belinda Johnson, Dennise Boone and Christina Elliot. He also leaves behind a devoted friend, Verle Bynum.
Though "Vess" did not have children, his loved extended far and wide to nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who felt like family.
