On Friday, April 17th, Shirley Elizabeth Lee, age 84, went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents, Viola Claytee and James Clifton Lee. Shirley is survived by her sisters, Earlene Marion Banks and Evelyn Lee Wall, and her brother, James Calvin Lee. Shirley was born on June 16, 1941, and worked at Obici Memorial Hospital (now Sentara Obici Hospital) for many years. She was a member of the graduating Class of 1960 at the former BTW High School and a member of its Alumni Association. She was a devoted member of East End Baptist Church for over 70 years, where she faithfully participated in the Silver Sneakers Ministry. She found great joy in playing dominoes and especially cherished the friendly competition—often delighting in besting Roger Simpson. She was a member of the East Suffolk Sophisticated Steppers and loved to line dance. Her favorite hobbies were sitting on her front porch in the summer, solving crossword puzzles, and traveling. She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand-nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends who will continue to celebrate her life. The family extends special thanks to her deacons, Dorothy and Chris Jones, the doctors & nurses at Sentara Obici Memorial Hospital, and the staff at Windsor Grove Health & Rehabilitation Center in Windsor, VA. & Joe and Eloise Harris.

A viewing will be held from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at noon, Friday, May 1, 2026, at East End Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
