"Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart"Mrs. Shawn Dymeko Richardson-Fisher transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She is and will always be, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all who encountered her embrace.Shawn is the daughter of Lonnie L. Richardson Jr and Jean M. Richardson. She was born in Suffolk, VA on November 1, 1972. She graduated from Denbigh High School in 1990. Shawn went on to use her passion for caring and her nurturing spirit to become a Registered Nurse at Riverside Women's Healthcare Center. Eventually, Shawn was tasked with a new pathway requiring her to turn in her badge to focus on her own health and made nurturing her family a full time job. In spite of her health, Shawn raised her beautiful daughters into loving mothers and was able to share her wisdom to her grandchildren. Throughout trials and tribulations, Shawn was blessed to receive a lung transplant on June 20, 2013 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, allowing her an additional 11 amazing years of love, and memories filled with a lot of laughter and happiness.Shawn leaves behind to cherish her memory, high school sweetheart and Husband, Rufus C. Fisher Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Tajah Richardson (Tevin) of Waldorf, MD and Tameyah Ford (Carlos) of Augusta, GA; two brothers, Lonnie L. Richardson III and Andre Ingram (Marvett) of Suffolk, VA; 2 adorable grandchildren, Bryson McNeil and Paloma Ford; 14 neices and nephews; a host of cousins, friends, aunts and uncles. Though Shawn is missed more than words can describe, she is now on a new journey, embracing every moment and watching her legacy continue to grow. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Zion Christian Church. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
