Shalonda Cofield

Shalonda Melvette Cofield also known as "Cofield", 39, was born on September 28, 1981 in Suffolk, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn J. Cofield and uncle Clinton Cofield. Shalonda was a member of Gates of Heaven Church of God in Christ where she was a member of the choir and a teach of the VBS. She was a graduate of Nansemond River High School c/o 1991 and the Pruden Center Vocational School. She was employed at Allied Universal Security and previously employed with Acosta Marketing Sells. Shalonda loved spending time with family, loved to dance, sing and help out people when she could and to have fun. She was a lover of children and they loved her also. She always kept a beautiful smile on her face and was always in good spirit. She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Melvin T. Griffin; two daughters, Tiana Cofield and Bryanna Cofield; three sons, Clarence Jennings, Jr., Tariq Gray and Lynard Crocker, Jr.; two grandchildren, Tariq Gray, Jr. and Kaisuan Horton; sister, Sherry Cofield Edwards; niece, Ariana Edwards; nephew, Jermiah Edwards;God mothers, Vanita Knox and Cynthia Benton; two god-daughters, Trinity Brown Johnson and Teymar Daniels; five god sisters, Nichelle Baker, Toya Sears and DeAndrea Sears, Glenisha Harden and Tyra Harper; four god brothers, Dirus Benton, Emanuel Benton, Ronnie Benton and Tony Sears; special aunt, Brenda Cofield; two uncles, Richard Cofield and Walliyyudin Shakir; a host of other relatives and friends. A visitation with family will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Balm Church-East Campus. Elder Sylvester Silvers will deliver the message of comfort. Bishop A.S. Hall, Sr. is the host Pastor.
