Sat'eya Nyciaha Baker

December 11, 2001 — May 2, 2021

Sat’eya Nyciaha Baker. Daughter. Granddaughter. Sister. Artist. College Student. Nature lover. Princess of The House of Hurricanes. Sat’eya had sort of a quiet way about her but make no mistake about it--she was full of life! Her name means Happiness, Laughter, Joy, Delight. Sat’eya was a cheerful person who cared deeply for others, especially older people. She graduated from Kings Fork High School and was planning to become a Nurse to fulfill her dreams. Yet, her purpose was already in place…she and her fighting spirit showed others what true friendship meant, she was a source of strength for her siblings, and Mama’s little helper for sure. Her style was simple and classic--with some chucks of course--she wasn’t flashy, but her beautiful spirit and smile could light up the darkest place. How interesting that she is among the stars now, Ms. Sat’eya Princess of Another Dimension, lighting the sky for all to see, surrounded by her favorite color, Blue, and reminding you that she is at perfect peace, misses and loves you all too. Sat’eya Nyciaha Baker was born to Deone and Carlette Baker on December 11, 2001. Her parents, who loved her so very much, introduced her to Christ early in life and she was a very spiritual person. She was a well-behaved child and the only girl with 3 brothers she adored, and who will miss her very much. She loved helping others and wanted to travel to far away places such as Switzerland. She loved music-anything really but especially Gospel, R&B, and she had a music crush on Tupac. Yes, Tupac. Sat’aya Nyciaha Baker left this world on May 2, 2021 at 2:38 in the morning to enter into eternity to be with our Heavenly Father. At the age of 19 years old, she leaves behind her father, Deone Antray Baker, Sr., her mother, Carlette Dionna Baker, her three brothers, Deone Antray Baker, Jr. (20), D’mereone Xavier Baker (14), and Deleone Alexander Baker (13); her paternal grandmother, Betty Baker; her maternal grandparents, Terry Jenkins, Sr. and Catherine Jenkins; eight uncles and aunts including Constance Wright (Marquis), Jasmine Jenkins (Shannon), Keshanna Langdon (Walter), Norletta Harris (Finese), Melquan Harris, Terry Jenkins, Jr. (Patrice), Tommi Jenkins (Sean), and Jovan Jenkins (Kendra); she was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Melvin Baker, but leaves to cherish a host of cousins, great aunts and uncles, and some very special friends who were truly special and she loved each of you for what you brought into her life—your unique personalities and for allowing her to just be her. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Mt. Joy Holiness Church, 500 Washington Avenue, Franklin, Virginia. She will be laid to rest in Southview Memorial Gardens. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
