Sunrise: March 21, 1958 Sunset: July 5, 2023 On Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Chesapeake General Hospital surrounded by family, God in his infinite wisdom called one of his faithful servant home to be at rest. Sara Annette Boone Knight, daughter of Leola Boone and William Hardison, born March 21, 1958. Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Boone and father, William Hardison, brothers Gregory and Michael Boone, and foster sister Nadine Trotter. Sara Boone Knight was educated in Suffolk Public Schools and received certification in food service management. She worked at Portsmouth Navy Shipyard and Mayfair Ghent for several years. Sara served as an usher, sung in the choir, and served on the kitchen committee at Angelical Baptist Christian Worship Center Portsmouth VA. She loved helping others, spending time with family and friends, shopping, and listening to her favorite gospel music. Sara Annette Boone Knight leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Damita Boone (Edgar), Kenya Johnson (Anthony), Shawnette Knight, two sons Albert Knight Jr. and Michael Boone Jr., three brothers Rickey Boone (Tina), Jeffrey Boone (Vanessa), and Preston Boone. Fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special cousins, Evelyn Boone-Gibson, Patrice Billups, and Belinda Holloway. Foster sisters Viola Watson and Salinda Porter. Devoted friends Ronald Sheraton, Norman Watson, Darlene O’Neal, and Sugar Ray Baker. A public viewing will be held 3:00-7:00pm, Monday, July 17, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Pastor Melvin A. Boone will deliver the message of comfort. Ms. Knight will be laid to rest at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
