Ruth A. Edwards

Ruth A. Edwards, 91, of Thomas Woods Trail, Zuni, Virginia transitioned Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Maretta Banks and James Artis. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas A. Edwards. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor, Virginia where she served as an Usher. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Anna C. Ricks of Norfolk, Virginia; three special nephews, James L. Faltz (Doretha) Faltz of Chesapeake, David Warren of Windsor, VA, and Charles Peter Swann of North Carolina; godson, James Edwards; two goddaughters, Audrey Cary and Vernita Simmons-Rasul;two special nieces, Bessie Faltz and Martha Smith; three special neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Butler, Betty Patterson, and Romine Warren; special caretaker, Jackie Carrington; two special cousins, Ida J. Walker and Lucille Turner; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 10686, Ivor Road, Ivor, VA. Rev. Larry Simmons will deliver the message of comfort.
