Rufus Eddie Wiggins, Jr. transitioned from life on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his residence in Suffolk, Virginia.
Rufus was born on 30 August 1953 to Catherine and Rufus Wiggins Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age while attending Greater First Baptist Church in Suffolk, Virginia.
He is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, Virginia. Upon graduation, Rufus entered the United States Navy. After completing his military commitment , Rufus returned to Suffolk to begin his civilian job career, while briefly attending Tidewater Community College.
His civilian job career included employment at Newport News Shipbuilders, The Gwaltney Company in Smithfield, Virginia, Hobbs Engineers in Suffolk, Virginia and finally at Kirk Lumber Company in Chuckatuck Virginia.
Rufus is preceded in death by his father Rufus Wiggins, Sr. and his wife Lillian Wiggins (Beale). He is survived by his mother Catherine Wiggins in Suffolk, Virginia, his sister Patricia, brother-in-law Carroll and nephew Patrick Gaines in Dayton, Ohio, his aunt Barbara Wifield of Suffolk, Virginia and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
