Roy Anthony Robertson was born to Ella Wiggins Roberts on March 17, 1960, in Nansemond County. He attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk. Roy joined First Baptist Church, Mahan Street and regularly attended until his health declined. He was employed by Helig Meyers Furniture and Smithfield Packing prior to the decline in his health. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Robertson; two sisters, Ella Sue Hill and Ruby L. Roberts.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Jackson Robertson; son, Kenyon L. Britt of Suffolk; three daughters, Demita R. Wilkins (Marcus) of Suffolk, VA, Taneka and Natarsha A. Robertson of Greenville, NC; two stepchildren, 1stSgt Donald J. Jackson (Rasheda) of Murrieta, CA and Brandi C. Jackson of Suffolk,VA; six grandchildren, Marissa Razo of New York, JaQuan and Darryl A. Robertson of Suffolk, VA, Aaliyah Pittman, Cedric and Cameron Edwads of Greenville, NC; three stepchildren, Rivi, Misa and Nori Jackson of Murrieta, CA; sister, Christine Edmonds (Ronnie); two brothers, Cleveland and Thomas Robertson both of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Rising St. James P.H.C. He will be laid to rest in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
