Roxie Lorraine Binns

September 15, 1956 — May 10, 2023

Our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and sister Roxie Lorraine Binns' fight came to an end on May 10, 2023. Roxie entered her eternal resting place with God early Wednesday afternoon in the presence of her husband, Larry Binns, along with a few family and friends. Roxie was the 2nd oldest of six children, born to the late Artice Ambrose Crawley and the late Roxie Lee Crawley on September 15, 1956. Roxie received her education in the Isle of Wight County public school system. Roxie worked a variety of different career fields including Smithfield Packing and Hampton Inn Hotel Suites. Her last job before retirement was Walmart where she was a Retail Supervisor of the jewelry department. Roxie took pleasure in shopping, vacationing, and spending time with family and friends. Roxie was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and well known for her fashionable style and dress. Roxie was a mother figure for everyone, and always had an inviting spirit to help all. Roxie took pleasure in having a clean and organized house, and she also loved gardening. Roxie was a long-time believer in Christ having been born and raised in the church. As a young girl, her mother brought her up in Sweet Haven Holy Church of God in Carrollton, VA and as an adult Roxie was a member of Gilfield Baptist Church under the pastorship of Elizabeth Jones. Roxie will surely be missed by many and we will be forever saddened by this loss. Roxie leaves us all with very fond, loving memories. She is survived by her husband, Larry Binns Sr., and three wonderful sons, Larry Binns Jr., Pervis Binns (Pam), and Brian Binns (fiance Yolanda); five grandchildren, Gavin, Kaia, Apifani, Brian Jr., and Lauryn; and multiple god children. She also leaves behind in siblings two brothers, Ambrose “Erston” Crawley, and Irvin Crawley (Teresa); three sisters, Pamela Faulk (John), Hilda Merricks, and Brenda Hunter (Edwin); four sisters in-law, Patrica Burrell (Curtis), Juanita Burrus, Shirley Warren (Michael), and Josephine Binns; three brothers in-law, Joseph Lee Binns (Ann), George Binns, and Jerry Binns (Rea); five aunts, Shirley Chapman, Jerlean Johnson, Hazel Wrenn (Anderson), Eva Warren, and Nellie Wells; four uncles, Percy Bailey (Lorraine), Perry Bailey (Carrie), Iris Bailey, and Robert Drew (Sarah). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Some of her closest friends include Mildred Gwaltney (Bobbie), Nita Holloman, Shirley Spratley, and Tony Gwaltney.
