Rosa F. Grandison, 79, of Litton Lane, Suffolk, VA transitioned Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her residence. She born on April 12, 1942 in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late George and Martha Lawrence. In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Grandison; a daughter, Mary D. Gray; and a son-in-law, David Elam. Rosa was educated in the public school system and graduated from Nansemond County Training School. After graduation, she was employed with Planters Peanut Company and dedicated over 25 years as a loyal and hard-working employee. Rosa was a member of Healing Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as a Church Mother. She enjoyed attending church service and praising the Lord, and her melodious voice could also be heard singing in the church choir. Rosa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her love was felt by everyone she encountered and left a lasting impression. In her past time, Rosa enjoyed playing cards, spending quality time with family and friends, and was an avid bible reader. Everyone who knew Rosa could attest that her faith was a strong as she was, and even in times of doubt, her faith was like an anchor on the stormy seas of life. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Stella R. Elam of Portsmouth, VA, and Teresa Mann (Benjamin) of Suffolk, VA; a son, Michael Rawls of Suffolk, VA; a son-in-law, Luther Gray; a brother, William M. Lawrence of Suffolk, VA; 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A viewing will be held 12-7pm Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Healing Chapel Baptist Church, 2375 Godwin Blvd. Suffolk, VA.
