Roosevelt "Row" Brown, Jr.

Roosevelt Brown, Jr., 66, affectionately known as "Row" as well as other nicknames, of 105 North 8th Street, Suffolk, transitioned Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Sentara Obici Hospital at 6:55 a.m. Roosevelt was born on December 8, 1955 in Suffolk, Virginia to Georgie M. Brown and the late Roosevelt Brown, Sr. Roosevelt graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1974. He worked at Planters Kraft Heinz for 39 years before retiring. He was the youngest of four siblings. He did accept Christ as his personal savior, and he was saved. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Georgie M. Brown; brother, Harvey Brown; sisters, Lula B. Hedgepeth (Milton) and Alice Brown; favorite aunt, Annie Mae Kindred, all of Suffolk, and Georgianna Sutton and Marion Bragg of Maryland; two nieces LaVonda Hedgepeth-Edwards (Charles and Aaliyah) of Culpeper, Virginia and Keyshia Boone of Portsmouth, Virginia, as well as a plethora of other relatives and friends. Although he had many friends, too numerous to list, and he was part of the "8th" Street Circle," he particularly loved to talk on his front porch to his bestie Gregory Francis about the "good ole days." Also, as well as others too numerous to name, his "phone buddies" Annette, Cathy, Tang, and Shanta will surely miss their "lively" conversations with him. Roosevelt requested that his family and friends cherish their memories of him in their hearts. Therefore, no public viewing will take place. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
