Ronnie Le'Roy Whitfield departed this life on May 31, 2024. He was born August 30, 1957 to the late Charlie and Willie Mae Whitfield. He served in the US Army Reserve for 15 plus years and later retired, soon after he continued his unwavering work ethic to  35 years and dedication in the Fitters Department for Newport News Shipbuilding where he retired as well.

Ronnie made sure to listen to the Word Of God as he started his day from sermons to gospel music. Ronnie enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles. Drag racing to be exact. he also was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and lets not forget how he loved his music. he use to bump that music so loud you could hear him coming way before you could see him. That song "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa and The Soulsonic force was definitely a favorite.

Left to cherish his memories are his two daughters; Lakita Williams and Shante' Williams, 7 grandchildren; 1 great grand daughter; two brothers Clinton Whitfield (Ivy), Thomas Earl Whitfield; two sisters Lashon Whitfield and Lavette Whitfield Harden (Troy); half brother Norman Whitfield; half sister Linda Whitfield; two best friends James Wilson and Greg Goode; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Cant forget his four furry cats; PinkPink, Mint, Kate, Belle Belle and a later daughter Ronisha.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 1p.m-5p.m. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
