Ronald Keith Sparrow of Suffolk, VA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born in Norfolk County, VA to the late Lorenzo and Isa Sparrow on February 9, 1953. He graduated from Deep Creek High School and later joined the Navy.
A man of many passions, Ronald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a dedicated member of Antioch United Church of Christ, in Suffolk. He was also a member of the quartet singing group, "Antioch Male Choir", whose soulful voices echoed throughout the church walls, lifting spirits and inspiring all who listened.
Sports brought him equal joy, particularly his unwavering support of the Dallas cowboys. He cheered for his team with enthusiasm, sharing in the victories and defeats with fellow fans. His passion for the game was infectious. In addition, Ronald was known for his impeccable sense of style, and dance moves. He had a knack for fashion, which always exuded confidence and charisma.
But above all else, Ronald cherished his relationship with God, his family and friends. He was a pillar of support, offering love, guidance, fun and encouragement to those he held dear. His kindness knew no bounds and his presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lorenzo and Isa Sparrow, sisters, Jacqueline Jones, Donna M. Sparrow, Terri Sparrow; brother, Carl Sparrow; nephew, Lamonte Sparrow; mother-in-law, Louvenia Clark and sister-in-law, Valerie Mizell.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Carol Sparrow; children, Ronald Sparrow, Jr., Jeron Sparrow, Antione Clark, Gregory Clark, Tonee Jones and Tunisha Jones; grandchildren, Kirah Fraizer, Jermarion Thorpe, Malakai Keith, Kennedi Clark and Uri Sparrow; brothers, Bruce "Bebo" Sparrow (Frances), Marvin Sparrow and Mark Benjamin; sisters, Claudia Stith, Vera Lamb (Walter), Wanda Bacchus, Cheryl Sparrow, Evelyn "Kim" West; special sister-in-laws, Theresa Boone (Andrew) Melvina Nicholson (Howard); special brother/cousin, Chris West, bonus mom, Ms. Evelyn B. Haskins, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ronald was a cherished husband, devoted father, grandfather, beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and treasured friend. The memory of his kindness, sense of humor, and his constant love will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Antioch United Church of Christ. Mr. Sparrow will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
