Romane Woodson peacefully passed away at his home, Monday, July 31, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 42 after battling Multiple Sclerosis since the age of 25. Romane was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward A. Thompson and his father, Dennis Parker, Sr. At a young age Romane was a participant of the Special Olympics and loved to play basketball in the backyard of his home. On Sundays Roman enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Washington Commanders. Romane loved his daily outing to his day support program at Western Tidewater Service Board, and then joined Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was loved by many. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Shirley Thompson of Suffolk, VA; maternal grandmother, Lelear Woodson; three sisters, Lawanda Thorpe (Robert), Tarina Parker (Alphonso), Ryesha Privott; brother, Edward D. Parker, Jr. (Sabrina); three aunts, Eula Woodson, Betty Steward and Yvonne Knight (Nathaniel); five uncles, Vernon Woodson (Joyce), Larry Woodson (Silveria), Michael Woodson, James Woodson (Carolyn) and George Parker; five nieces, DeAsia Woodson, Shirelle Gatling, Tiyanna Thorpe, Deshoni Parker and Demetria Parker; five nephews, Robert Thorpe, Jr., Raiquan Parker, Deunco Moton, Jr., Dennis Cross, Demetrius Cross-Parker; a host of great aunts, cousins, family and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23434, Pastor Ross Turner, the message of comfort will be delivered by Bishop A.S.
