After a short period of illness, Roland Scott whispered to the Lord, not my will, but thine will be done, and entered into eternity March 28, 2024.Roland was predeceased by his loving parents Mary Frances Sears Scott and William Alfred Scott, as well as two brothers William A. Scott Jr. and George L. Scott.Roland attended John F. Kennedy High School and worked at Planters Peanuts and Birdsong Peanut Factory. Roland was a social butterfly and loved his family and friends.Roland leaves to cherish his earthly memories his daughter Roshawnda Mayfield of Charlotte, N.C; three sons, DaQuan and LaQuan Scott of Suffolk, Virginia and Roland Mayfield of Charlotte, N.C; two granddaughters; five grandsons; two sisters, Margaret L. Parker of Colfax, N.C and Ida M. Scott of Suffolk, VA; three brothers, Rickey A. Scott, Reginald A. Scott and Tony M. Scott all of Suffolk, VA; aunt, Margaret A. Sears of Suffolk, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. The family will received visitors a the home of his wonderful sister, Ida Scott at 318 Cedar Street, Suffolk, VA to those who wish to come by and extend their condolences.
