Robert Vann Lawrence was born on January 25, 1966, in Suffolk VA born to the late John Henry Lawrence and Lucille Lawrence. Robert Vann Lawrence was called home on June 27,2023 at Obici hospital. Robert was a graduate of Suffolk High school, while in school he played on the football team as a running back. He attended the College Career Academy at the Pruden center where he focused on cosmetology for barbering. Robert was a dedicated worker for Smithfield for more than 20 years as a crew leader on the shipping dock. Robert enjoyed being around family and friends, expressing his love to them in his own unique way. He was full of life and laughter and will truly be missed by all that knew him. There was never a dull moment around him if you were feeling down, he knew just the right words to say to lift you spirit and put a smile on your face. Robert was preceded in death along with his (wife) Rachel Lawrence, (Brother) Darryl Lawrence and (sister) Janet Faye Lawrence Pennix. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted friend Sharon Kitt. His son Kory Lawrence, along with four daughters, Teshawna Johnson (Tremaine), Shavon Lawrence (Brandon), Sharae Lawrence-Jordan (Travis) and Kayla Lawrence (Raquan) all of Suffolk VA and 15 grandchildren. Two Brothers John Lawrence (Nellie), Howard Lawrence (Anna) all of Suffolk Va. Three sisters Martha Lawrence and Dorothy Jenkins of Seaford Delaware and Beulah Lawrence (Micheal) of Suffolk Va. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he cherished. A public viewing will be held 4:00-7:00pm, Friday, July 7, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Gates of Heaven Church of God in Christ, 114 Beech Street, Suffolk, Virginia. Mr. Lawrence will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Family and Friends will gather at 135 Ashford Drive.
