Robert “Tim” Anderson Jr. was born January 16, 1955 in Suffolk, Va. to the late Robert Lee Anderson Sr. and Marian Anderson. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. Robert transitioned from this life at the age of 70 years old surrounded by his loved ones on March 9, 2025 at his residence.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Crocker-Anderson; parents Robert Lee Anderson, Sr. and Marian Anderson. His siblings; Ralph Alfonso Anderson, Jerry Goodman, Sr. and Judith Diane Claude.
Robert received his education and training in John F. Kennedy High School as well as the military. He served 7 years in the US Army, as a Communication Specialist. He enjoyed traveling the world, being stationed in many states and living overseas in West Germany. He later returned home to work at The Naval Air Rework Facility in Norfolk for 10 yrs. His love for traveling wasn't over. He was an over the road tractor trailer driver for 15 plus years known as “Bodean” to some, until he retired.
Robert was affectionately known as “Tim” to many. He was loved by many and was a great person to be around, and always kept a smile. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed himself everywhere he went, and loved to dance. He would ride his bike through the city and play his music as loud as he could. He would go fishing and stay on the water for hours. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a phone call away when he was needed, and he rarely said no. He was always willing to teach and lend a helping hand.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Tristan Savage and his daughter, Chaney Jennings, of Suffolk,Va. grandson; Jerriamiah Holley, sisters; Regenia Anderson; Mary V. Anderson; Sandra Anderson; Marian Coats of Suffolk, Va, April Anderson of Chesapeake, Va; brothers; Ronnie Anderson,Sr. (Felecia) Ricardo Anderson,Sr, Mark “Chris” Anderson,Sr, Anthony “Wayne” Anderson, Sr, of Suffolk, Va, Aunts; Evelyn Brown of Wichita Falls, Tx, Bishop Paige Pringle, Patricia Brown, Linda Wright of Suffolk; uncle Bobby Goodman(Cassandra) of Chesapeake; sister-in-law Betty Goodman of Suffolk, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be held 2-6pm, Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Balm Church East Campus. He will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
