Rebecca Francis

On the morning of her 87th birthday, God gently called Rebecca Beale Francis into eternal rest.Rebecca affectionately known as "Buttercup" was born in Handsom, VA to the late John and Kate Beale.She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Christian Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and the number 2 Usher Board and the Willing Workers Club until her health failed. She also was a member of the Civic League of Lake Kennedy. She was a homemaker and the Matriarch of the family. She loved to cook, travel and enjoy family gatherings, playing cards and was known for speaking her mind.She was the youngest of 11 and was preceded in death by her seven sisters, Mattie, Ruth, Iona, Beatrice, Kate, Lillian and Dayner and three brothers, Alvin, Johnnie and Edward.She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 62 years, Sandie Francis; children, William Flood, Gregory Francis (Marzina), Timothy Francis (Ellae), Connie Brinkley (Geney), Phyllis Francis Vann and Reginald Francis; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 at St. Timothy Baptist Church.
