Reatha Mae Brogdon

The beloved Reatha Mae Brogdon peacefully passed away at her home at the age of 96 on February 15, 2019. Reatha Mae Brogdon was born November 17, 1922 to Robert and Louvenia (Tate) Street. She received her formal education in Dunn, North Carolina public school district. Reatha Mae (Street) Brogdon was married to Lester Brogdon in December 1946, this 58 year union was blessed with four children. She was employed by Planters Peanut for 31 years, where she remained a loyal and dedicated worker until she retired. She also was a member of the Local 26 Union for 65+years. She is survived by three daughters, Gloria J. Jackson (Charles), Joyce A Henry (Wayne), Lester M. Corner (William, deceased), son, Lester L. Brogdon(Phyllis), sister, Johnnie M. Brown (Elma, deceased), grandchildren, William Corner, Anita Corner, Diane Corner, Tomakie N. Washington, Waynette E. Dudley, and Erran A. Griffin, four great grandchildren, Brittany Corner, Parkar B. Griffin, B. Wayne Wilson, II and Caicee Corner-Crocker and a host of family and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, February 22, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Mahan. 112 Mahan Street, Suffolk, Virginia. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
