Raymond Randolph Turner was born August 23, 1955 to the late James W. Turner, Sr., and Clara V. Turner. Raymond transitioned on February 24, 2022 at his home. He was educated in the Southampton School System. He worked at the Newport News Shipyard until his health declined. Raymond accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and began serving faithfully in the church. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Where he served on various ministries and the male chorus. Raymond was a huge sports fan. Preceding him in death are his father, James W. Turner, Sr., mother, Clara V. Turner and brother, John L. Turner. He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Raymond L. Turner and Travis R. Turner; six grandchildren, Khaalid, Khalia, Kahari, Kaylah, Savannah and Elijah; four sisters, Vivian L. Richardson (Bruce) of Suffolk, VA, Deildra D. Picot of Suffolk, VA, Rachel A. Turner (Jon) of Windsor, VA and Sophia B. Wilson (Stacy) of Suffolk, VA; two brothers, James W. Turner, Jr. of Franklin, VA, Martin L. Turner (Angelina) of Suffolk, VA; long time friend, Geneava Everette; a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held noon, Thursday, March 3, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel.
