Randolph Crocker, Sr.

Suffolk

Randolph (Randy) was born on July 12, 1947 to the late Phillip H. Crocker, Sr. and the late Malinda G. Crocker. He was a native of Baltimore, MD then he moved to Suffolk, VA. On Sunday, December 8, 2024, he entered into eternal rest at his residence in Suffolk, VA.

Randy enlisted in the U.S. Marines at an early age, and after a honorable discharge he began a career as a maintenance man in Baltimore, MD at several housing apartments. After moving back to Suffolk, he entered into a career in HVAC & Refrigeration. Randy has always been a craftsman; he went to several refrigeration schools learning his craft. Randy excelled in this field. He was a supervisor for Smithfield Foods, paving the way for many people and completing many amazing tasks. He went on the work for Planters of Suffolk in the same field, still blazing the way. Lastly, he was employed by the city of Suffolk. There he was a supervisor in capital programs; and also did work with refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and many other tasks, before retiring from the city of Suffolk.

Randy was known for his craftsmanship and being able to fix anything. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He was a great father, provider, and grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Jean Barbara Miles Crocker; a sister, Linda Karen Crocker; two brothers, Alces L. Crocker and Phillip H. Crocker, Jr; three stepsons, Ernest Ward, Jr., Karl Gene Ward, and Steven Ward.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving sons, Dexter Randolph Crocker, Darcy Crocker, and Randolph Crocker, Jr; two grandsons, Randolph Crocker, III (Trey) and Jayden Casey Crocker (Jay) of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Barbara J. Riddick of Suffolk, VA and Sylvia D. Edwards of Carrollton, VA; two brothers, Lynard Crocker of Greenville, SC and LaTroy S. Kigler of Suffolk, VA; stepson, Gary D. Ward of Greenville, VA; bonus son, Gregory F. Brown of Suffolk, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at New Calvary Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
