Perry Lamar Mason

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:6-8.

Perry Lamar Mason of Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Monday, January 20, 2025 at Autumn Care of Suffolk. He was born to the late Arthur L. Mason and Clemetine Mason on April 21, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Perry was a loving and compassionate person who had a kind word with all he encountered. He will always be remembered for his famous saying, "TELL ME SOMETHING POSITIVE".

Perry was employed at General Rental Center of Suffolk for 30 years. He will be missed by his extended family there.

Perry is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Mason and Clemetine Brown Mason; Grandparents, Tom Brown and Delora Brown, Arthur Mason, Sr. and Ella Joe Mason Turner; three sisters, Portia Lops, Sonseeahray (Starry) Mason and Crystal Mason and one brother, Mario L. Robinson.

He is survived by his sisters, Tammy A. Mason, Tarita M. Mason and Pamela D. (Niecy) Dickens; brothers, Arthur El Tigre Mason and Keith L. Riddick; stepmother, Mary N. Mason and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
