Norma Veronica Brown, known as the grandmother, mother, and friend to many, made her transition to heaven on October 30th, 2021 in Suffolk, Virginia at the age of 67. Born in Jamaica, she moved to America to do one thing she knew best, to provide a great life to her children. She works as a Certified Nursing Assistance for many years until she retired. Norma Brown was known as a hard working woman and never found it hard to build a connection with the people around her. As a highly opinionated woman, she could hold healthy and fruitful conversations with the utmost ease. Her stories never strayed from interesting and her distinct Jamaican accent intrigued many. Norma Brown had the gift of four children, Omar(49), Elicia(47), Nadine (45) and Kurt(40),eleven grandchildren (Nneka, Peter-jon, Andrew, Marcus, Jamar, Cheyene Marquiest, Tianna, Omari, Miles and Kingston), son-in-laws(Peter and Robert) and daughter-in-laws ( Maxine and Odette (soon-to-be)). A day never passed when each of her children, grandchildren and loves ones crossed her mind. The concern for their safety was extremely important to her as she was always awaiting their next interaction. She always enjoyed the presence of her family and her bright smile would never waver around them. There was a lot to learn from Norma Brown. A major takeaway was her will to fight. Even in her last days, she fought until the end to ensure what she was leaving behind was in great hands. As a message to her, we are all in great hands. We are in a much better position with you watching us. You will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on in all of us. We love you way more than you can ever imagine. Her remembrance and going home service will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Graveside Funeral at Holly Lawn Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
