Nellie Mae Spratley

Nellie Mae Spratley, 91, of Mount Lebanon Avenue, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Lillian Virginia Wright and Elijah Wright II. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Spratley, Sr.; daughter, Jeanette Boone, and brother, Elijah Wright, III. She was a Domestic Engineer for 62 years and was a member of Mount Lebanon Church where she served as the church Treasure and Secretary. She was a member of the Senior Choir and Usher Board. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Beverly Davis and Felicia Spratley of Suffolk, Virginia; four sons, Robert Wright Sr., (Athea Wright) of Gates County, North Carolina; Douglas Spratley, Sr. (Ida), Malcolm Spratley, and Fred L. Spratley, Jr. all of Suffolk, Virginia; son-in-law, Johnny Boone Sr.; two god daughters, Bridgette Hatton and Kathleen Eley; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mount Lebanon C.O.G.I.C, 1732 Mt. Lebanon Avenue, Suffolk, VA 23436. She will be laid to rest in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
