Mrs. Verlicious Kelly Clark, 71, of Dock Landing Road, Chesapeake, Virginia transitioned Friday, August 20, 2021 at Sentara Obici. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Kelly and Clyde Burston. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1968,where she was a Drill Team Captain. She matriculated to Norfolk State University where she attained her degree in Applied Science as a Registered Nurse and Union Christian Bible Institue where she received her Bachelors in Theology. Verlicious employment included being a Government employee at the Norfolk Federal Building, a Registered Nurse at Norfolk Public School and Hillhaven Rehabilitation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, the owner/administrator of The Charity House for 25 years in Chesapeake, Virginia, Administrator of Indian River Residential Care (150 bed facility) in Chesapeake, Virginia and an RN at Silver Care Home Health in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a member of Victory Fellowship in Portsmouth and sung with the young voices at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, served as a youth Ministry Leader and Choir Director of various choirs (St. Timothy Youth Choir, Voices of Victory at New Mt. Vernon in Portsmouth and was a member of the Ministers Wives. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband Rev. Allen Clark, Sr. of Chesapeake, VA; four daughters, Tiffanie Harris (Gary) of Sacramento, CA, Alvita Hall (Anthony) of Chesapeake, VA, Gwendolyn Clark of Durham, NC and Carrie Attardo of Chesapeake, VA; four sons, Gregory L. Banks, Jr. of Glendale, CA, Marcus Clark of VA Beach, VA, Allen Clark, Jr. of Delaware and A. Bailey Hall of Chesapeake, VA; six sisters, Sandra Nimmo, Darlene Jones, Sharon Pillips, Michelle Davis, Arlethia Watson and Latesha D. Gray all of Virginia; three brother, Ernest Savage of Chesapeake, VA, Wade Duncan of Pennsylvania and Kelvin Jones of Norfolk, VA; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; aunt, Gwendolyn Boyd (Willie) of Glenarden, MD; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Balm Church East Campus, 523 E. Washington Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. Minister James Hill will officiate and Bishop A.S. Hall, Sr. will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23321. Due to COVID-the family will not receive visitors nor will it be a repass. The family has requested no physical contact and to maintain social distancing and that you utilize the card boxes.
