Mr. Leslie M. Boone

Mr. Leslie Boone, 75, of North Carolina Highway 32, Corapeake, North Carolina transitioned Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his residence.Born in Gates County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lizzie Lee Smith Boone and Clyde Sampson Boone. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Bell and Lizzie Scott; one brother, Vance Boone. He retired from Suffolk Concrete after 20 + years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce A. Boone of Corapeake, NC; six daughters, Joyce Knight and Debbie (Stacy) Faulk both of Corapeake, NC, Markesha (Rickey) Norfleet of Elizabeth City, Pamela Shivers (Lewis) and Cynthia Boone both of Sufolk, VA, and Nita Jenkins (Frederick) of Hampton, VA; two sons, Calvin (Latasha) Knight of Sunbury, NC and Clyde Boone of Suffolk, VA; sister, Janice Boone of Suffolk, VA; brother, Dallas Boone of Suffolk, VA; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County Street, Suffolk, VA. Rev. Dr. Robert L. Hobbs will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
