On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, the Lord called home our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend. Akia Scott, known as "Boo-Boo", "Boot" and/or "Boo-Gotti". He was born October 12, 1991 to Sonya Knight and Quinton Merricks. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Dorothy Sessoms and Annie Scott; great-grandfather, Joe Sessoms and Dallas Scott; grandmother, Valorie Merrick; three aunts, Chrissy Sessoms, Annie Scott, and Shaneeka Wheeler; two uncles, William Scott and Bernard Scott. Akia was a native of Suffolk. HIs contagious smile and charming personality captured the hears of many. He was know for his unique drawing abilities and his dancing skills. He could fill the room with laughter using his hilarious sense of humor alone. He will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Sonya Knight; step-father, Anthony Williams; grandmother, Barbara Scott; grandfather, Jerome Scott; son, DaJuan Scott; two daughters, Ainya and Raquel Scott; three brothers, Travonte Madison (Keisha), Jerome Scott and Kharon Williams; three sisters, Shelia Scott, Taquela Beale and Ataia Beale; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at New Calvary Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
